  • What is your cancellation policy?
Life can be unpredictable, and you may need to reschedule an appointment. If you can’t make your appointment, it is important that you let us know as soon as possible. If you need to cancel or postpone your appointment, please can you give at least 24 hours’ notice. If you provide us with less 24 hours’ notice and we cannot fill your appointment time with another client, you will be charged 50% of your full consultation fee. If you fail to attend and provide no notice, unless there is a reasonable explanation, you will be charged 100% of the consultation fee if you do not attend. We will provide you with reminders, however, it is your responsibility to manage your appointment times.
  • How much does a session cost? How many sessions will I need? How do I pay?
The cost of a 50-minute session is $140. This will be discussed and agreed upon during your first session. For the initial 1-2 sessions I work with you to get a full understanding of your current concerns and your treatment goals whilst considering all biological, psychological, and social factors. Initially is it helpful to have weekly sessions whilst we start to build a therapeutic relationship and working together. These sessions may be spread out to fortnightly sessions and become less frequent. This allows time to implement changes on your own while also staying connected to review your progress. Preferred method of payment is direct debit (details available on invoice) prior to your session. Square Reader facilities are available for Debit/Credit Cards ( approximately 1.9% transaction fee to be included in payment).
  • Do I need a referral ?
No, you do not require a referral for counselling services. However, if you do want to access rebates for counselling services from your private health fund (as applicable) a GP referral may be required. Please check with your private health fund. It is a good idea to speak with your GP and let them know how you are feeling as your mental health can certainly impact your physical health.
  • Can I claim a rebate from Medicare or from my Private Health Fund for counselling services?
You are unable to claim Medicare rebates for counselling services. If you hold private health insurance with Bupa, Police Health Fund, Phoenix Health, CUA Health (Telehealth only), St Luke's Health, Emergency Services Health, Westfund, Teachers Union Health, GMHBA and AIA you may be eligible for a rebate. Please check with your private health insurance if you are covered for counselling services. An invoice will be provided after each session and a rebate will need to be claimed by yourself directly with your Private Fund.
